Cavassa Homes was founded in 2008 by Mark Cavassa and was restructured in 2024 to include his son, Sam Cavassa, as a partner. Mark has over 45 years of carpentry, construction, and contracting experience. With a degree in Industrial Technology with an emphasis in drafting and construction from SDSU, and hundreds of projects under his belt over the course of a career, Mark is as qualified as he is experienced.

His son, Sam, has been wearing a tool belt since he could walk. A passionate apprentice, Sam learned the trade over the course of his lifetime and now works as the company foreman, leading the team on site. The Cavassa Homes team works collaboratively with clients to build their dream spaces from beginning to end.

A 1,042 square foot detached ADU, built from the ground up. The client wanted a high-end guest house that matched the design of their existing home. A full size kitchen, two bedrooms, one and a half baths, garage, pergola-covered patio, and a redesign of the existing driveway completed a seamless integration of this casita into their property.

A 200 square foot addition to an existing home. The client wanted to add a kitchen and living space to a spare bedroom, creating an attached ADU with a separate entrance for rental. A full high-end bathroom and closet remodel. The client wanted to convert a spare bedroom into a luxury master bedroom closet and increase the size of their existing master bathroom. We completely reconfigured the space to create a cohesive master bedroom suite including a large format porcelain slab walk-in shower, a freestanding soaking tub, custom white oak cabinetry, infrared sauna, and a spacious walk-in closet.

The Patio Cover

The client wanted a patio cover built directly into their roof in order to extend their living space. The unique covered pergola is waterproof and clear, providing protection from the elements, plenty of sunlight, and a seamless transition from the indoor to outdoor living space. We used the exact same building materials and style of the original home to create aesthetic harmony and function in the patio.
